Two killed as two cars collide on Kanpur-Etawah highway | Kanpur News



Kanpur: Two youths died in a road accident on Sunday night that occurred around 1:30 am on the Kanpur-Etawah Highway near Kumbhi Doodh Factory under Akbarpur police station area in Kanpur Dehat, while two others were seriously injured. Police, who arrived upon receiving information, sent the injured to the hospital and restored traffic.A car heading from Kanpur to Auraiya lost control, crossed the divider, entered the opposite lane and collided head-on with a car coming from Auraiya towards Kanpur. The collision was so severe that both vehicles were completely wrecked.The occupants of the car who were injured in the accident include Shreshtha Kesarwani, resident of Pritam Nagar, Thana Dhoomanganj, Prayagraj; Gaurav, resident of Chowk, Prayagraj, Himanshu Kesarwani, resident of Dhoomanganj, Prayagraj and Ravi, resident of Chowk, Prayagraj.Police sent all the injured to the district hospital with the help of 108 ambulances, where doctors declared Himanshu Kesarwani and Ravi dead.Station House Officer Harmeet Singh said that the causes of the accident were being investigated. The bodies have been sent to the mortuary. Police got the damaged vehicles removed from the road and restored the traffic.
