BENGALURU: Recording a video of himself triple-riding on a motorbike with two women and uploading it online cost a Doddaballapur-based man Rs 2,000 in traffic fine.Daily-wage worker Manjunath G had a passion for uploading reels of himself on social media, which earned him the nickname, Reels Manja, police said.Manjunath paid Rs 500 for riding without a helmet, Rs 500 each for pillion riders not wearing helmets and the rest for other violations.Trouble began when Manjunath recorded a video while riding his bike with the two women on Madagondanahalli Main Road. None of them wore helmets and Manjunath was heard shouting, “Huli-huli” (Tiger-tiger in Kannada).Doddaballapur Rural police saw the video and booked a case against him under BNS Section 281 (rash and negligent driving) and other traffic violations.Youth hits divider, diesA late-night bike ride turned tragic when a 24-year-old youth died after crashing into a road divider near Iskcon temple late Sunday night.Chethan R, the victim, had gone to meet friends and was returning home when the accident occurred around 11.30pm on West of Chord Road. Police said Chethan lost control of the bike, rammed into the central median, veered to the left side of the road and hit a tree.
