Three held with hybrid ganja worth 9L in Bopal | Ahmedabad News
Ahmedabad: Acting on a tip-off, Ahmedabad Rural Special Operations Group (SOG) apprehended three persons, including a minor, and seized hybrid ganja worth over Rs 9 lakh near Bopal late on Sunday night. The operation was carried out under the jurisdiction of Bopal police station, where an FIR was registered on Monday.According to police, a team on patrol received specific information that three individuals would arrive near a showroom close to Bopal bridge on a two-wheeler to sell narcotics. Based on the input, a raid was planned with independent witnesses and videography arrangements in place.Around 1.45am, the team reached the spot and found a scooter parked nearby. A search of the area led to the detention of three suspects. Upon questioning and search, police recovered a total of 258.8g of hybrid ganja from their possession and from the vehicle. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth Rs 9.05 lakh. Police also recovered five mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs 7,730, three weighing scales, packaging material, and the scooter used in the alleged activity. The total value of the seized items is estimated at around Rs 9.8 lakh.Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were acting on the instructions of another person, who is currently absconding and is believed to have supplied the drugs. Officials said the seized substance tested positive for narcotics during on-site examination, and samples will be sent for further forensic analysis. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and efforts are underway to trace the absconding accused.
