Chennai: PMK faction led by its founder S Ramadoss entered into an electoral pact with V K Sasikala‘s All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam on Friday for the April 23 polls.V K Sasikala called on Ramadoss at his Thailapuram residence where they signed an agreement. Ramadoss desrcibed it as a “victorious alliance” and invited other parties to join them. Flanked by Sasikala, Ramadoss told reporters that they would contest all 234 constituencies. “The alliance is formed for the welfare of the people of the state. Those who wish to join us are welcome,” he told reporters. Ramadoss said the formation of the alliance had “sent shivers for some,” and that the alliance would make a significant impact across several constituencies. The development follows Sasikala’s meeting with Ramadoss last week when she proposed an electoral alliance. Ramadoss, who has been engaged in a legal tussle with his son over the leadership of PMK, chose to align with Sasikala in the wake of his limited political options.
