Parties declare candidates for Puducherry poll | Chennai News
CHENNAI: AINRC, AIADMK and actor Vijay’s TVK released their candidate lists for Puducherry assembly elections on Sunday. CM N Rangasamy will contest from Thattanchavady and Mangalam. Among other AINRC’s candidates, former minister Malladi Krishna Rao will contest from Yanam, Rajavelu from Nettapakkam, and former speaker Sivakolundhu from Lawspet. Former ministers Thiagarajan and Thirumurugan have been fielded from Bahour and Karaikal North respectively.
While AINRC is contesting in 16 seats, BJP will field candidates in 10, leaving two each for AIADMK and LJK. AIADMK announced former MLA A Arumugam for Oupalam and A Gandhi for Ourleanpeth. Meanwhile, TVK declared candidates for all 30 seats. The list includes five former MLAs and one former minister – Sai Saravana Kumar.
