On court order, FIR against cops for attack on advocate | Kanpur News
Jhansi: After intervention of court, case was lodged against two sub-inspectors, constable and home guard in Lalitpur Kotwali on Sunday night for thrashing an advocate who went to register case of a client at the police station in Dec 2025.The case was filed against SIs Lalit Ujjwal and Deepak Dagar, both posted at police outpost Dailwara, along with constable Deependra and home guard Parmar Singh, on complaint of advocate Kripal Singh (39) and on orders of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mayank Jaiswal.All four officers have been booked under sections of BNS on the complaint lodged by the victim, a junior advocate in the district and sessions court.As per allegations of the victim, on Dec 7, 2025, he called police after his niece was harassed by some people. Police took him along with the girl and her relatives to the police station. When Kripal objected, he was thrashed.“I kept telling police I had come to plead for my clients, but they did not spare me. Later, I tried to lodge a complaint, but it was not entertained. Police did not let my medical examination be conducted despite instructions of theSDM,” Kripal said. He went on his own to the civil hospital for treatment. CJM Mayank Jaiswal ordered FIR under Section 173(4) BNSS on Mar 17 and submission of a copy of the FIR in the court. Additional SP Kalu Singh said, “We are investigating the matter and will take suitable action on the basis of the investigation report.” tnn
