Jhansi: The Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment (Jhansi Sector) on Thursday caught an NRHM official red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh in Mahoba.The accused, Jitesh Soni, was posted as Family Planning and Logistic Manager under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in the district.A complainant approached the Jhansi unit, alleging that a bribe was being demanded to facilitate his transfer from CHC Panwari to CHC Kabrai. After verifying the complaint, a trap was laid by a team led by Inspector Jagdish Yadav. The officials apprehended Soni while he was accepting bribe of Rs 2 lakh from the complainant.A case has been registered at Kotwali police station, Mahoba, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Officials said the accused will be produced before the vigilance court in Jhansi, and further investigation is underway. tnn
