Nepali man nabbed; 4 stolen bikes, gold recovered | Pune News
Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad police have arrested a Nepalese national and recovered four stolen motorcycles and gold jewellery collectively worth Rs2 lakh from him.The accused, Prakash Vishwakarma (20), of Chakrapani Vasahat in Bhosari, originally from Mahendranagar in Nepal, was taken into custody from Yerawada Central Prison.Senior police inspector Vijay Dhamal of the South Mahalunge MIDC police said a study of crime spots and CCTV footage to curb rising vehicle thefts led to Vishwakarma’s identification. He was already in Yerawada prison after arrest by Bhosari police. “We took him into custody from prison. During questioning, he admitted involvement in four vehicle thefts and a burglary in the Mahalunge and Talegaon MIDC areas,” Dhamal said.He said that the police have recovered the four stolen motorcycles from him. He stole those motorcycles from the parking lots in the MIDC area. “He also broke into a house at the MIDC and stole gold jewellery. We have recovered the stolen jewellery from him,” he said.
