MSEDCL targets ‘zero arrears’before current financial yr ends

Nagpur: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has launched an aggressive ‘March-end’ action plan aimed at recovering all pending electricity dues in Nagpur circle by March 31, with a clear target of bringing arrears down to “zero”.Director (human resources) Rajendra Pawar issued the directive during a special review meeting held on Friday. The drive covers all categories of consumers, including domestic, commercial, and industrial, and also focuses on recovering long-pending dues from govt agencies.A meeting held a detailed review of division-wise performance across Nagpur’s urban and rural areas. Pawar stressed that while the power utility is committed to providing reliable and quality electricity supply, timely revenue collection remains crucial to sustain and improve services. He instructed officials to intensify efforts over the next 10 days, calling the period “extremely critical” for achieving the recovery targets.Senior officials, including chief engineer Dilip Dodke and superintending engineers Amit Paranjpe and Sanjay Wakde, were present along with executive engineers from various divisions.As part of the drive, Pawar also conducted a ground-level review at Butibori division, where he interacted with field staff and assessed recovery progress. He urged teams to maximise consumer outreach and ensure that pending dues are cleared within the stipulated timeline.During his visit, Pawar also inspected the 33/11kv Nag Bhavan substation, which recently received ISO 9001:2015 certification, and appreciated the staff for their performance. He later visited the Civil Lines subdivision office to review billing and recovery efforts.With intensified field-level monitoring and strict timelines, MSEDCL aims to significantly improve its revenue position before the close of the financial year.
