More than 150 aspirants get application for seats in Sasikala’s party | Chennai News
Chennai: Nearly 150 aspirants have obtained application forms, expressing interest in contesting on behalf of V K Sasikala‘s newly launched All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AIPTMMK).The distribution of applications for the Assembly polls began on Wednesday at Sasikala’s Poes Garden residence-cum-party office, which will continue till March 22. Sources said around 130 aspirants obtained application forms till 5 pm, and the number is likely to have crossed 150. Most of the aspirants are from southern districts. Former Tiruttani MLA P M Narasimhan said the response was good and that more people have expressed interest in contesting elections on behalf of the party.“We are also exploring the possibility of forming an alliance. We are in discussions with some parties, and the talks are moving in a positive direction,” he said, recalling Sasikala’s recent visit to PMK founder S Ramadoss in this regard.
