MNC employee arrested for raping 6-yr-old stepdaughter | Ahmedabad News



Ahmedabad: Police on Sunday arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly raping his six-year-old stepdaughter at home in the Krishnanagar area. The accused, employed with a leading multinational IT company in Gandhinagar, was allegedly caught red-handed by the child’s mother who was alerted by her cries. Police said the woman was in the balcony drying clothes when she heard her daughter scream. She rushed back to the bedroom and found the accused in a compromising position. She pulled the child away and informed the police. The accused has been taken into custody. Inspector V H Joshi of Krishnanagar police confirmed that the man has been booked for rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. “The accused displayed a perverse mindset. His wife refused his demand for physical intimacy due to ill health, following which he targeted the minor child,” Joshi said.Police sources revealed that the accused, who had a diploma in mechanical engineering, was employed with the MNC. He had married the complainant in 2021, two years after her first marriage ended in divorce. The woman has a daughter from her first marriage and a son with the accused.Police are probing if the accused has a history of sexual offences, although no earlier complaints have surfaced. The mother’s testimony suggests that the assault was triggered by her refusal to comply with the accused’s demands.Police say they are conducting a thorough investigation which will include a psychological evaluation of the accused. The child is currently under her mother’s care.
