I-T swoop on Ahmedabad chemical company’s 20 locations | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: The income tax (I-T) department on Friday carried out search operations on a city-based chemical group involved in providing dyes and intermediaries to the chemicals industry. The search, that started in early morning hours, covered about 20 locations, said sources.“Plants and offices in Vatva and other areas were covered along with residences of partners in the firm in the western city areas. The search involved immediate relatives of the partners, too, according to primary details. The officials have recovered cash, valuables, digital and physical records of business transactions,” said the sources.They added that the group is also involved in exports, and that financial records of the past few years along with details of investment are currently under scrutiny. Officials remained tight-lipped about the finds, only hinting that the searches may continue on Saturday as well.
