Help held for 70L jewellery theft in N Kol | Kolkata News
Kolkata: Gold ornaments worth nearly Rs 70 lakhs, reported missing from a Kestopur apartment on Monday, have been recovered within 24 hours. Police arrested the house help, Mandira Halder (26) in connection with the theft.During interrogation, she allegedly confessed to the crime. Investigators said Halder was working at the flat since Dec 23, primarily to care for the homeowner’s elderly mother-in-law while the couple was away at work. According to police, the accused stole the ornaments and concealed them in a bag at a relative’s house. Police recovered the stolen gold from the accused’s relative’s house. tnn
