New Delhi: A firing incident linked to an ongoing rivalry between two groups was reported in northwest Delhi’s Sultanpuri on Wednesday night. In a video circulating on social media purportedly show masked individuals firing multiple shots at a house in the locality while another person records the act.When police reached the spot, a man who runs a momo stall in A-4 Block reported that a group of men arrived, vandalised his stall by throwing food items and fired multiple rounds in the air before fleeing. An empty cartridge was recovered from the spot.Preliminary inquiry indicated that the incident was part of a larger dispute. Police said shots were also fired earlier at a house linked to a rival group, pointing to an ongoing gang rivalry. The complainant and the accused are known to each other and have a long-standing personal enmity, cops said.Investigators suspect the trigger to be recent exchanges between the groups on Instagram, which escalated tensions. An FIR has been registered under provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and teams have been formed to arrest the accused, whose identities have been established.
