Kanpur: Panic broke out on Tuesday at a tannery in Nai Chungi in the Jajmau police station area of Kanpur after a fire erupted in the spray department, prompting workers to run outside to save their lives.A fire brigade vehicle reached the spot after receiving information and brought the fire under control after strenuous efforts.It was reported that on Tuesday afternoon, a spark generated due to a short circuit in electrical wires in the spray department ignited flammable materials stored there. Within moments, plumes of smoke began rising. Chief fire officer Deepak Sharma stated the fire was extinguished in time, and no loss of life has been reported. tnn
