Cong, VBA denied permission to march towards RSS HQ | Nagpur News
Nagpur: A proposed protest march by the Congress and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) towards the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Mahal was curtailed on Monday after police denied permission for the full route, citing law and order concerns. The march, planned from Samvidhan Chowk, will now be restricted up to Morris Y Point, officials said. Traffic restrictions will be enforced between 12 noon and 3pm along the protest route. Vehicles moving from Rahate Colony towards Morris Y Point will need to turn left at Institute of Science, and right at Manas Chowk. Traffic from Kamptee Road and Kasturchand Park Metro Station towards Samvidhan Chowk will be diverted via Jaistambh Chowk and Akashwani Chowk.Additional diversions may be implemented depending on the situation, said deputy commissioner of police (Traffic) Lohit Matani.State Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal and VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar are set to lead the march, which is scheduled to begin at 11am. Party leaders have called for large participation, signalling a show of strength against the BJP-led Central govt. The protest has been organised over allegations linked to the “Epstein files,” with Congress leaders accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of maintaining silence on the issue. The party also alleged a sustained campaign by the BJP to defame its top leadership, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi. In a statement, Congress leaders criticised the Centre’s foreign policy and accused the BJP and RSS of undermining democratic values.
