CBI arrests MCD assistant engineer for taking bribe | Delhi News
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Engineer (AE) posted at a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) office in Shahdara in a bribery case.The accused was serving in the Shahdara South Zone office located in east Delhi’s Ghazipur. The matter came to light after the CBI received a complaint alleging that the AE demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 in exchange for clearing a pending bill verification file. Based on the complaint, a case was registered on Wednesday.The agency laid a trap on Thursday and during the operation, the accused was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 18,000 as part of the bribe amount. The AE was taken into custody and later arrested.
