Kanpur: Arpit Tiwari smashed 294 runs to power Geetanjali Club to a crushing 382-run win over City Club in a KDMA League match at Sapru Ground on Wednesday.Put into bat, Geetanjali Club posted a mammoth total of 423 for the loss of four wickets in 40 overs. Arpit hammered 47 boundaries and 10 sixes during his 140-ball innings. He forged a 324-run opening partnership with Anoop Gautam in 30.4 overs. Gautam chipped in with 54 runs. Arpit’s prized wicket was taken by Shourya Bhatt, who conceded 64 runs. In reply, City Club collapsed for a mere 41 runs. Opener Anant Agnihotri was the lone batsman to reach double figures, scoring 14 runs, while six batsmen failed to open their account. Shubham Gupta and Arpit Tiwari claimed four and two wickets, respectively.
