Two workers, MUV driver killed in head-on collision with truck | Pune News
Pune: Two workers and the driver of a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) were killed after the vehicle went out of control due to a tyre burst and collided head-on with a truck at Indapur on the Pune-Solapur highway on Tuesday morning.The Indapur police identified the deceased as Pramod Balu Khawale, who was driving the MUV, and two workers – Vijaysingh Kamalsingh Rajput of Ratlam and Shashank Umesh Kotiya of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.Inspector Vilas Nale of the Indapur police in Pune rural told TOI, “The MUV was heading towards Pune from Indapur when its tyre burst. The vehicle then veered onto the Hyderabad-bound lane after jumping the median and collided head-on with a truck. The truck was travelling towards Solapur from Pune.”“The MUV driver was on his way to drop the two workers at their company located near Pune on the Solapur highway. We suspect that worn-out tyres may have caused the accident,” he added.The MUV and the truck were damaged in the accident, he said.
