Woman found dead, kin accuse son-in-law

Kanpur: The suspicious death of a 50-year-old woman in Bilbai village of Mahoba turned into a murder case after the postmortem report confirmed that she was killed by a gunshot, with pellets found in her body.Shyamvati’s body was found in a field in Bilbai village under the Shahar Kotwali area. A wound found on her chest raised suspicion.In the X-ray conducted after the postmortem, several gun pellets were found in Shyamvati’s chest and upper abdomen . The doctors at the district hospital also confirmed the recovery of pellets from a 12-bore pistol.The deceased’s family accused her son-in-law, Bhupendra, of murder. According to the family, Bhupendra’s wife, Meera, came to her maternal home with her son and later went missing. Over this matter, the son-in-law threatened to kill the in-laws’ side.The deceased’s son, Neeraj, and daughter-in-law, Roshni, stated that Bhupendra had threatened them earlier as well. CO (City) Arun Kumar said the police were seriously investigating the case. The son-in-law was being interrogated. All aspects were being examined.
