New Delhi: The vigilance unit of Delhi Police has nabbed an assistant sub-inspector red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.The complainant, a resident of Shahdara, alleged that his wife had earlier lodged a case related to harassment for dowry demand against him at Geeta Colony police station. “The investigating officer of the case, ASI Rohtash Kumar, allegedly harassed and threatened him with strict action against him and his family members named in the FIR, and demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000, which was later reduced to Rs 20,000 after negotiations,” police said.The vigilance team laid a trap and Kumar was caught.
