KANPUR: A software engineer travelling from Noida to Lucknow fell ill late Friday night on the Gomti Express soon after the train moved ahead from Etawah. He died during treatment at a community health centre.Manvendra Singh, 49, resident of Alambagh, Lucknow, was posted as a software engineer at a private company in Noida. He was travelling home to Lucknow on Friday night when his condition deteriorated as the train left Etawah and he fell unconscious.On receiving information, GRP at Phaphund station got ready and as soon as the train reached the station at 10:15 pm, Singh was taken by ambulance to Dibiyapur community health centre for treatment. Doctors at the hospital tried to save him, but he succumbed during treatment. Police identified his address through an identity card found in his pocket and informed his family in Lucknow. On Saturday, his father and wife, Deepti, arrived in Auraiya. Singh is survived by his wife and two sons.According to doctors, preliminary examination suggested heart attack as cause of death. Police handed over the body to the family after completing legal proceedings, said GRP outpost in charge Ajit Kumar.
