2 children killed, 3 hurt after learner driver loses control | Kolkata News

Behrampore: A car hit five children near a shop at Dighri under Samserganj police station on Sunday afternoon, killing two and critically injuring three.The children were taken to Anupnagar Rural Hospital, where six-year-old Ahil Akhtar was declared brought dead. The others were referred to Jangipur Superspeciality Hospital. Two were later shifted to Murshidabad Medical College Hospital, where nine-year-old Samir Shaikh died.Police said the car has been seized. The youth at the wheel was learning to drive when he lost control and is now absconding.Mahboob Alam, former chairman of Dhulian municipality, said, “I spoke to the police and demanded punishment as police does not allow driving learning in such narrow lane.”
