Epstein Files row: Oppn plans march to RSS HQ

Nagpur: The Congress and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) have announced a joint protest march in Nagpur on March 23 to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters to raise questions about the alleged mention of BJP leaders in ‘Epstein Files’ and India’s engagement with the United States. The march, planned from Samvidhan Square to RSS HQ in Mahal, will be led by state Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal and VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar, with participation from thousands of party workers and allied groups.“The march is to question Sangh leaders why BJP ministers continue in office despite ‘Epstein Files’ revelations,” Sapkal told TOI, adding that recent trade agreements with the US could adversely affect India’s agriculture sector. Sapkal claimed India’s “sovereignty and self-respect have been compromised”, and argued the developments have exposed “conduct, character and functioning” of BJP. “India’s image took a beating after names of BJP ministers featured in the ‘Epstein Files’. Israel’s officials confirmed the revelations, and it is available on the web,” he said. The statement also referred to RSS as BJP’s ideological parent, questioning its position amid the controversy. “When India’s global image is at stake, why has RSS continued its support?” it asked, framing the march as a demand for answers from both central govt and the organisation. “Over 50,000 Congress workers would participate in the march. Our unit is completing formalities of seeking permission from police and administration,” he said.
