Teen ends life after dispute over charger | Kanpur News

Kanpur: A 17-year-old boy died by suicide on Thursday evening after an alleged dispute with a tenant over mobile charger in Kanpur, police said. The youth’s father alleged that he had asked for a charger from a woman living on rent in the same house but she refused and allegedly started hurling abuses and assaulted him. The woman even complained to the police. On seeing the police, the youth locked himself in his room. The police kept knocking but the youth did not open the room out of fear of being arrested and hanged himself, said the youth’s father.The family moved in the house on rent six months ago. At their previous place, the youth had a fight after which police had beaten him leaving him scared of police, said the father. The father was not at home at the time of the incident.Govind Nagar inspector Rikesh Kumar Singh said that the body had been sent for postmortem. tnn
