Kanpur: A criminal accused in more than 30 cases was arrested with his two associates after an encounter with Bidhuna police in Auraiya district on Friday morning. CO P Puneet Mishra said police were on alert following a recent mobile snatching incident in Bidhuna area. On Friday morning during a vehicle checking drive near Sahaspur village the police noticed four suspicious youths on a bike.As the police signalled them to stop, the youths tried to flee and opened fire at the police. In retaliatory firing by police one of the youths got injured.The arrested criminals were identified as Anuj Yadav, resident of Chakrapur; Yashveer alias Brahmapal Sengar, resident of Ajajana; and Lavesh, resident of Noorpur Kharagpur. Police said Anuj had more than 30 cases registered against him.One looted mobile phone, a country-made pistol, two cartridges and a bike was seized from Anuj Yadav, and a country-made pistol and a cartridge from Yashveer Sengar.Injured Anuj was admitted to CHC Bidhuna from where he was referred to the district hospital in Auraiya.
