Man booked for abetting wife’s suicide | Chennai News

Chennai: A 30-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for abetting his wife’s suicide which occurred on Feb 15.Arun Kumar, an assistant medical officer at ESI hospital in Kodambakkam, was married to Abinaya, 30, a private firm employee. Police said that on Feb 15, an argument broke out between the couple as Arun suspected that she was talking to another man. The next morning, Arun left for work and tried calling Abinaya, but she did not answer his calls. Arun then informed her father, who checked on her and found her unconscious in the house. He alerted the police, and Abinaya’s body was recovered and sent for postmortem. Abinaya’s mother lodged a police complaint alleging Arun’s role in her daughter’s death.The Tambaram police registered a case and started a probe. A revenue divisional officer inquiry was also conducted.
