Milk tanker hits bike, drags three men upto 100 metres | Kanpur News
Kanpur: A speeding milk tanker hit a bike killing three men on the spot near Shakha Janwara village in Kanpur on Thursday. The three came under the wheels of the tanker and were dragged upto 100 metres by the tanker. They were going to attend a funeral on the bike when the accident occurred.Enraged family members and villagers blocked the Mughal Road, demanding immediate action against the culprits. On being informed police reached the spot and pacified the mob. Prema Devi (60), a resident of Naubasta in Ghatampur town, died of illness on Wednesday night and her last rites were performed at Yamuna Ghat in Musanagar on Thursday afternoon. Balwan (35), his cousins Ajay Kumar (32), and Suraj (29) were going on a bike to attend the last rites of Prema Devi. They reached near Shakha Janwara village when a milk tanker rammed into their bike. The impact was so severe that all three came under the tanker and were dragged for nearly 100 metres. The bodies of all three were crushed and they died on the spot.Eyewitnesses said the bodies remained trapped under the wheels of the tanker. The tanker driver fled the spot, abandoning the tanker. As soon as the news of the incident spread, a huge crowd gathered at the spot.Enraged family members and locals staged a protest by blocking the road, bringing traffic to a complete halt. Police arrived at the site and brought the situation under control.
