Kanpur: A case of rape by an outsourced employee came to the fore involving a 40-year-old woman admitted to the psychiatric ward of a hospital in Saifai, in Etawah district. The woman was found to be 5 months pregnant. Police registered a case and after university management named an outsourced sanitation worker, he was taken into custody for interrogation. During routine check-up, the woman was found 5-month pregnant. In prima facie investigation, involvement of a sanitation worker has come to light. Saifai CO Kushal Pal Singh said the 40-year-old woman was admitted to psychiatry department of the university on Jun 14, 2025. After she was found pregnant, investigation indicated she had been raped.” Head of psychiatry department, Prof A K Mishra, reported the matter to the police station, based on which police registered FIR under relevant sections. tnn
