4 more held in Ichhapore rape case | Surat News

Surat: After the arrest of a 23-year-old man for raping a 16-year-old girl, Ichhapore police have arrested four more persons in connection with the crime. While two allegedly helped the prime accused while he was in hiding, one played the role of a messenger between the prime accused and the girl. He also took the accused and the victim to the hotel where the crime occurred. The fourth accused allegedly helped the prime accused by changing his name on his Aadhar card. As hotels did not allow a couples of different religions, the prime accused changed his name. The prime accused also allegedly altered the age of the victim from 16 to 18 on her Aadhar card to enable entry into the hotel.The prime accused had allegedly given the minor a mobile phone, and later used it to get explicit photographs. When the girl’s family discovered the association and tried to intervene, the accused allegedly threatened to kill the girl’s brother.
